Living your dream starts with MURDERING the past.

Are you feeling lost or are you simply looking in the wrong place?

Sometimes we’re in a rut or feel stuck and it feels like we’re starting at a blank wall.

Or it’s comforting to at least?

Maybe you’re making a decision on a house or finally feel the need to leave your toxic workplace but feel cornered.

Either way, this resistance to moving forward begins with your inner beliefs. And, a lot of the ones we have aren’t always serving us to our best selves. So, if you’re concerned with the dramatic murder in the title, hear me out.

No matter how your life looks like, the core of your being is based around one of the most powerful aspect of being a human: Our Mind. more specifically, Our beliefs.

In fact, it’s why religious denominations and lifestyles are gravely separated because most of the time their fundamental beliefs within those practices are different. Stubbornly different. Or they’re exactly the same internally but look a little different on the outside.

You get it.

Either way, this isn’t a religious rampage, but a focus on building useful beliefs that serve us well.

More Importantly, a focus on how to use them to our advantage.

SO, Why Murder?

Seems a bit aggressive.

Well, I’m not an expert but most would agree Murdering requires some pre-meditated planning, passion, goal-setting, and execution.

When it comes to unlearning specifically it’s extremely vital to be specific and focused like murders when they have a pre-meditated plan.

Think of this similarly to how Dexter gets his victims, methodically done yet passionate.

Maybe all that time listening to true crime shows and podcast taught us all something useful.

SIDE NOTE: Do you think Adnan Syed did it?

Anyways, these steps are practically exactly what you need to truly unlearn any belief.

But, before we start the murder process let’s dive into why.

Why would you want to unlearn anything? Well, our minds are quite brilliantly filled with infinite possibilities but mostly focuses on keeping us alive. Which of course is to our advantage. But with surviving means cautions, warnings, and fears. Leading us to build belief systems, many times, on temporary feelings or obstacles.

I mean, we all want to survive but surviving isn’t really living, is it? In fact, when you’re living you’re often in a lot of discomfort which to our logical minds is a warning signal for pump the brakes, right this instant!

Although, logically, it’s essential for our minds to keep us cautious when there’s uncertainty or unfamiliarity. However, I find that true growth endures in times of uncertainty.

So, although staying cautious in times of uncertainty is quite useful and practical it doesn’t move us.

Many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality

And, if you’re practical you’re BORING.

Besides fear, doesn’t move us to truly experience people, life, and culture the way being dangerously uncomfortable does.

So, instead of protecting us from harms way our cautions often imprison and restrict us. Largely leaving us with repetitive resistance to opportunities, growth, and that dreaded thing will all slightly avoid: Change.

This leaves our minds to choose the choices with the least amount of change, discomfort, and uncertainty.

I guess our minds aren’t much of a Dexter fan, after all.

In knowing this though, it’s helpful to build beliefs that serve us well. Doing so, will not only helps us make intelligent decisions, but also ignite our growth slowly. Which in turn, helps us create a much more exciting life in the long run.

Wouldn’t you want a fun life?

I know the answer, Yes.

If it TRULY is a YES.

Why not take the risk of living an amazing life.

And before you even attempt to aggressively disagree, this doesn’t mean jumping off the cliff. Not right away, at least.

You choose the pace.

Take the car ride to the cliff first. Take pictures of the views. And, maybe one day you’ll decide jumping off the cliff will make for an awesome memorable moment.

Until then enjoy the ride there.

But, it’ll take some deep dives into our mind and it’s going to get pretty murderous.

This is where meditation plays an essential role.

Here we go, with some hippy shit.

No. trust.

Meditation is simply the art of acceptance.

It’s accepting who you are, where you are, and allowing what could be.

More importantly meditation is self-reflection.

Self-reflecting what didn’t work before. What stories we keep repeating in our heads. What stories created our belief systems.

Maybe you’ve heard a few?

“I’m not good enough..”

“I don’t belong..”

“I can’t express myself…”

You feel me? Because I hear you.

By reflecting, we can now extract the source of our own core beliefs, quickly.

Return to the root and you will find the meaning— Sengcan

Here are some common murdered beliefs we can all learn from.

(OLD) — My voice doesn’t matter

Many of you may have felt this, at a younger age or more recently when voting. This feeling of being unheard leads us to quieting our voices, suppressing our emotions, and practically staying on the bench in our own life. Doesn’t seem very fun to me.

However, this belief that was created possibly from an early childhood trauma or recent bully isn’t factual.

At all.

Sometimes when we believe something so deeply we consider it as LAW.

how silly of us.

Here comes the bloody murder part —

However, your emotions when building and repeating this belief is very real. Additionally, I’m sure even addressing that you had this belief and finding its source hurts to realize. But, if you dove in deep in yourself you are brilliantly on your way to unlearning quickly. More importantly, creating new beliefs.

So, where do we go from here?

Follow these steps

1. Self-reflect: extract the source of the belief

2. Feel: unleash negative emotions

3. Care: began seeking clarity

4. Create: build and apply a new belief

The only way to successfully renew yourself and build a new belief is by having the passion to want to change.

You have to want to be better, to care about your feelings, yourself, and your life.

And the best way of reversing this is by telling yourself better stories. It might sound silly at first, but what’s sillier is continuing to treat yourself poorly.

So, after you’ve done the deed by murdering through your contrasting beliefs tell yourself these instead:

MY VOICE MATTERS.

(Repeat daily)

• I give myself permission to speak up.

• I am worthy of being heard.

I’m sincere with my words and going to have great results.

• There are no blocks I cannot overcome.

• I release anything that doesn’t serve me.

Follow these same steps for any beliefs that follows —

See below for more

( OLD )— I am not worthy to be cared for

Replace with:

I AM CARING.

• I am loved.

• I am cared for.

• I care about myself.

• I care about my well-being.

• I’m getting better at caring about myself.

• I’m choosing to surround myself with loving, caring people.

• I am surrounded by loving and caring people.

• I am caring.

• I care for myself.

These stories we tell ourselves are fully customizable to you so really the words you choose should be created for you and more importantly meaningful to you.

Release your emotions and create change by starting to tell yourself better stories. It might be more fun, anyways.

We’re all going to die anyways, might as well have some fun before we do! Who knows maybe you’ll inspire someone just being you.

Whether you think you can or think you can’t, you’re right. — Henry Ford
