Why you should post your Unfinished work

Tell me why you’d disagree?

Medium is every creative writer’s dream.

When I first heard of medium I jumped on the opportunity.

I immediately saw how quickly I could write on this space without overthinking about style and getting overwhelmed with tons of ideas. Mostly, because sometimes simple really is the most effective and provocative.

No doubt though, I still have a large section of unfinished drafts on my profile like most writers, but having those style options clearly set and restricted was a big hug to my explosive mind.

In fact, it was great to see that there were options to have styling such as a

The best way to get things done is to simply, Begin.

The best way to get things done is to simply, Begin.

“The best way to get things done is to simply, Begin.”

Besides all that, the simple typewriter style font, made every post satisfying. Who doesn’t like this font, any-who?

Clearly, medium does not have a wide variety of stylistic choices, but honestly this simplicity made it that much easier. And there’s more!

Over analysis paralysis is much worse, anyways.

And, I could even add a photo, tag someone, and most importantly write from my phone.

Like adding this great photo that has absolutely nothing to do with what this post. Or does it?

Anyways, what a Game Changer medium became for just about any writing geniuses.

Would you agree? Let’s be honest there must have been moments in your writing career where you experienced writer’s block, maybe even every other day. Like most of us.

Does it ever happen simply because of being on laptop? Staring at the blank word doc?

It’s not always obvious why, but there’s something about that blank word doc that ignites clouded expectations and swirling ideas that just takes the magic away from scribbling words to paper, digitally.

A creeping anxiety that literally pushes so hard on the brakes of your moving brain cloud.

Thank god for medium, though.

Finally, a platform where you don’t have to build your own blog or website to get started. Where the styling is taken care. Where, there’s a plethora of brilliant writers speaking their truths and analyzing topics from interesting perspectives. Where we could text a writing piece online?

Look unfinished pieces aren’t very sexy.

I get it.

It’s not perfect.

It doesn’t have that line, color, or fact that you’ve been needing for it to be an IDEAL read.

BUT the truth about writing is a powerful read does not come with only intelligent word choices but more so within the depth of the connection.

What story are you even telling? And Why? For Who?

Typos aren’t fun, but they can be edited. Publish your piece and fix it later.

Hire a proofreader.

Hire an editor.

Do what you have to do, but most importantly get that story out there. Especially, when it’s for yourself.

Don’t leave your unfinished words in your brain, let it out.

Someone needs to hear it.

Save on it on the medium draft, one day you’ll thank yourself for starting.

So, tell me what’s your unfinished story?

We’re waiting.
